Espresso: 1:2 ratio (1 gram of coffee to 2 grams of water) 7-9g single, 14-18g double
Moka: 1:12 coffee to water ratio. This will yield a strong espresso-like concentrate of about 190ml. A good place to start is with 13 grams of coffee and 170 grams of water. For those looking to brew a speciality cup of coffee (not espresso), use a ratio of 1:15.
Aeropress: As a starting point, we recommend one heaping scoop of medium-fine grind coffee, or 14-15 grams of coffee per cup. The original AeroPress recipe recommends 1:6! After the brewing process is complete, you can add water to taste, but it's supposed to be reminiscent of espresso. Leave the coffee to steep for between 30 seconds and 1 minute, depending on how weak or strong you like your coffee.
Cafetiere/french press: 15g of ground coffee for every 250ml of water, you’ll need 21g for a small cafetiere and 60g for a large cafetiere. We think the ideal cafetiere brewing time is anywhere between 5 – 8 minutes. The longer you brew, the stronger the flavours of your final cup will be.
